Satan's Coffeemaker

Brett Ogden's startup imploded, his reputation now lives inside a Google Alert, and his wife's coral fellowship has marooned him on a Pacific atoll with eighty-three neighbors, one plywood toilet suspended over a lagoon, and a diesel desalination unit he privately names Satan's Coffeemaker. Then the machine dies.
