Not Ours to Keep

A battered cello arrives in a Bath workshop the same night a fire takes Hana Resnik's mother. Her grieving father restores it, keeps it, and never tells anyone it exists. Seven years later, a Czech cellist describes an instrument stolen from her family — the scroll repair, the worn patch of bare wood — and Hana recognises every detail. Doing right by a stranger will mean destroying the only parent she has left.
