Fourteen Llamas and a Forgery

Fourteen months into a retirement he never wanted, Benny Platt is losing a slow war against microwave shepherd's pie and daytime television. Then a letter from a Portuguese solicitor hands him a crumbling farmhouse, eleven hectares of stony ground, and fourteen llamas. Trouble follows: a scheming brother-in-law, a sister with a mayoral campaign to protect, an ex-wife with an invented legal theory, and a dusty painting of a saint being eaten by a crocodile that far too many people suddenly want.
