The Dry House

Orphaned by fire and sent to a tobacco farm deep in the hollows of eastern Kentucky, seventeen-year-old Casey Cullen discovers that her Aunt Darlene's household runs on something darker than poverty or faith. Every door has a lock. Every kindness has a cost. And at the edge of the property stands a weathered drying house whose walls hold the scratched names of children no one ever came looking for. Casey's only allies are a hired hand with nothing to lose and a little sister who may already be lost.
