The Crooked Crane (Ages 8–12)

Kitty Milburn has one week left in the tall crooked house on the hill, and nobody asked her opinion about moving. In her grandmother's attic she finds a grey book of ninety-nine folding diagrams and a single square of silver paper — enough to open a door into Foldland, a country built from everything anyone has ever folded and forgotten. But a smooth gentleman with an iron for a hand is pressing that country flat, and he has just taken her little brother.
