The Cauldron

Two hundred miles of unroaded northern British Columbia lie between Kip Forster and the nearest help, and somewhere upstream a man with a rifle has decided they cannot be allowed to leave. Kip came to the Turnagain River to dry out and guide a friend's wolverine survey before freeze-up. Instead he finds a wrecked floatplane, a poisoned gravel bar, and a snapped satellite antenna. The only way out runs through three miles of canyon whitewater—and a Class V drop called the Cauldron.
