The Basement

Four teenagers in Belfield, Oregon have killed themselves over one school year, and sixteen-year-old Micah Rydell is the only person who sees the thread connecting them — an anonymous forum called The Basement, where someone posts photographs of empty rooms exactly seventy-two hours before each death. Together with his classmate Megan Orell, Micah traces the images to the victims' own bedrooms, shot from angles that shouldn't be possible. But when his best friend Corey begins slipping away into the forum's embrace, Micah discovers that The Basement isn't a website at all — it's something far older, far hungrier, and it already knows his name.
