Hazel Thistle and the Bottled Sky (Ages 8–12)

Ten-year-old Hazel Thistle has a dangerous secret: weather leaks out of her. A laugh brings a warm breeze, a sulk brings fog, and a sneeze brings three snowflakes — which is very bad news in Whistleby, where every scrap of sky legally belongs to the greedy bottler Hector Snell. With her town greyer and quieter each day, Hazel must decide whether her gift is something to hide, something to sell, or something to give away.
