Blackfly Country

A floatplane spirals into the boreal wilderness of northern Ontario, and thirteen-year-old Jamie Bricknell is the only one still conscious. With his uncle critically injured, the emergency beacon destroyed, and nothing but trackless forest in every direction, Jamie must keep them both alive using a pocketknife, a scrap of tarp, and instincts he never knew he had. Hungry, blistered, and besieged by clouds of blackflies, he faces a brutal choice: stay and watch his uncle die, or strike out alone into country that doesn't forgive mistakes.
