A God of Small Hungers

Neris Sarn scrapes food from the plates of gods to keep her dying sister alive—until the night she poisons one. Ravos, Lord of Hunger, has decreed that the poorest district of the river-city Corvane will be sealed and starved as holy sacrifice. Neris kills him with three drops of rat poison and inherits his divine mantle. Now she must master a domain she has suffered under her entire life, outwit gods who trade in manufactured famine, and survive a hundred-day trial that will end in her death if she fails—all while the ghost of the god she murdered whispers from inside her own bones.
