The Midwife of Boone Hollow

Twenty years of catching babies in the Missouri Ozarks have made Pearl Whitten the one person Boone Hollow cannot do without. Then a tent revival rises at the mouth of the hollow, and the preacher declares all earthly medicine vanity, emptying medicine shelves and turning neighbors into strangers.
