Seven months after his wife Fiona died in a highway collision, architect Graham Neville is barely holding himself together. When he discovers that Fiona secretly enrolled in a brain-mapping program run by Halcyon, a startup that builds eerily accurate digital simulations of the deceased, Graham activates her simulation — and finds himself talking to someone who sounds exactly like the woman he lost. But as the conversations deepen, the simulation begins asking questions it shouldn't, and Graham realizes that what Halcyon has built may be far more than software.
