Station Amber

A registered letter comes back undeliverable to a Stockholm sorting office in the winter of 1962, and postal inspector Stig Nordahl does what he has always done: he opens it, logs it, files it. Inside is a capsule of Baltic amber holding a strip of microfilm. Two days later his log entry no longer exists. Neither, soon, do the men who could explain it. Methodical, unremarkable, utterly alone, Stig starts pulling a thread that the Swedish state has spent ten years burying.
