One cup of tea in a spotless Victorian house, and wildlife photographer Kirsty Rawle wakes in a windowless room behind industrial glass. Her captor is the courteous taxidermist who let her onto his cliffs to photograph peregrines. He swears he will never hurt her; he only wants to keep her, the way he keeps all beautiful things. Above ground, the search is already stalling. Below it, a name is scratched in Cyrillic beneath the bed.
